For example, we often get requests from Aviation companies to provide driving staff, but these particular specialisms are not recruited directly by ARL. To ensure that our clients are provided with a complete "one stop shop" service, ARL are able to access a nationwide database of fully trained driving staff for any particular skill base through the Pertemps Group. The driving division was created to concentrate specifically on our clients distribution and market requirements, now and well into the future. Holiday's, absenteeism, illness and market changes can easily be overcome with one telephone call to any of our local branches. Pertemps have a large force of transportation and distribution staff, including drivers of all categories and specialist personnel. Our Consultants will then take great care to match your requirements with a qualified and experienced driver.
Jobs@pertemps Driving Division also offer a guaranteed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service to the Transport industry. This is available for both temporary and permanent recruitment, with each "out of hours" telephone number being answered by a consultant local to your area and your business. Message services or answer phones are not used. Our clients will also benefit from Pertemps' Fidelity Guarantee, with an indemnity of £250,000 in the unlikely event of a proven act of dishonesty on the part of any member of our employed workforce.
Our Driving Division has also incorporated our new "Employed Status" policy of recruiting new and existing driving personnel on to a Permanent Contracts of Employment, creating a pool of drivers and drivers mates who are all fully employed by Pertemps. The feedback we received from those drivers who tested the new system for Pertemps was very positive. Everyone said that they valued the opportunity of building a CV with Pertemps, which enabled them to find better assignments in the long run. This change will not affect our clients rights to offer our Flexible Employees permanent positions and we fully support this transition. Nor are any of our clients required to give a notice period if they wish any of our Flexible Employees to finish thier assignments.
In April 2005, the Working Time Road Transport Regulations came into effect, and had a major impact on transport operations including Recruitment Agencies like Pertemps. In order to help our customers, mobile workers and ourselves comply with the regulations we designed and introduced our robust record keeping system in order to maintain average working hours, night work and periods of availablility (POA's). Our flexible mobile workforce and Jobs@Pertemps have an agreement in place which enables average hours to be calculated over a 26 week reference period, and for night workers to revert to normal EU drivers hours regulations.
