| Description | Hours of Work. 11:00 – 20:00 Monday – Friday, plus one Saturday in four from 09:00 until finish – paid as overtime.
Salary / Package. The package depends upon age and experience, up to 17K. A good basic, Contributory company pension (applicable after one years service). Over time is paid at Time & Half. 20 days paid holiday per year.
Responsibilities
The candidate will have experience within a Courier Customer Service environment and will possess the following qualities:
1) A conscientious team player who is calm under pressure.
2) Someone with a professional and friendly telephone manner who realises the importance of placing priority on incoming calls, endeavouring to answer all within 3 rings.
3) Someone who is capable of completing all tasks in a timely and competent manner.
4) An adequate level of common sense when dealing with complaints and the ability to recognise when and how to escalate matters of concern.
5) Someone who is adaptable and has a flexible approach
6) Someone who has a good basic understanding of how an industry-related database is used and experience of using MS Outlook. Knowledge of MS Word and Excel is desirable.
Duties will include:
1) Taking regular bookings and handling general enquiries from our customers.
2) Tracking and tracing shipments.
3) Monitoring Agents performance in a designated area.
4) Monitoring Track files to ensure they are kept to a manageable level.
5) Familiarise yourself with all special services we can offer and ensure customers are given all options available.
6) Set up, organise and closely monitor the progress of special deliveries.
7) When appropriate, ensure customers are offered additional insurance and professional packing or any other extra service that might be applicable for the job at hand
8) Set up and organise Imports for customers
9) Ensure all own billing is kept up to date and is passed for invoicing by all applicable deadlines.
10) To produce any other report or perform any other job related task that may be required from time to time, for which appropriate training will be given.
